ROBOSPHERE

The ROBOSPHERE is being built on the north corner of the CTU campus, linking CIIRC and the Mechanical Engineering faculty and its associated labs – physically and programmatically. It offers spaces to work, learn and experiment, places to meet and present the research results as well as prototypes. Half of the building is dedicated to public spaces such as flexible exhibition spaces and various programs along the Velflíkova to open up the Campus as urban module. As a “floating bar” the ROBOSPHERE closes the corner whilst vertically pulling the public inside. The main construction consists of X- and Y-frames, holding up the sun-sloped roof and determining public and university areas. Atriums going through all floors reconnect both and offer space to overlapping programs.
