The Singing Railway

A new main train station will be built in Brno. The new railways crossing the Svratka river will be immensely bigger than the previous one, becoming dark, ugly, unused and dangerous. The project would offer a recreational activity by using the vibrations of the metal structure of the railways induced by the passage of trains. The sound would create a live “music” all around the area. Another kind of wires - for pedestrians to interact with - would be attached to the railways but would vibrate with the people's touch. Repetitive rays of light going through the railways would bring natural light to the site. An uncluttered space where the light enters, the air circulates, and sounds break the silence is the aim of the project to ensure a safe and nice public space.
