A new dynamic of the square: between public and intimate space / Hopstel - Adaptive reuse of historic hops deposit building

The project focuses on the reorganization of the public space and the rehabilitation of a hop factory into a hostel with a cafe. The main square is relocated in between the buildings concerned by the project of the other student working in the area. There is a hierarchy of the public space to respond to the different needs, not only for the tourist but also for the locals: to provide a balance of quiet places for relaxation and lively places for social events. The second part of the project is about revitalizing the old hop deposit and the house to connect it to the public space and offers services such as accommodation for all type of stay (tourism, long-term...) and a cafe open to the public but also offers private services for the hostel.
