Anotace
The studio project was to conceptualise the Smichov city into two radical ways, one part was designed as a sky city with high-rise buildings (New York Alternative) and the other part was designed as low-rise, high density buildings (Tokyo Alternative). Furthermore, the Tokyo site was divided into various clusters and this cluster is numbered 14. Cluster number 14 of the Smichov site was a little different than its counterparts, The idea to design the cluster number 14 was to have a bottom-up approach, contrary to the traditional method of planning. Certain fundamental rules were coined to make sure the houses can be as dense as possible. Upon placing the housing units as per this logic, considerations were made for the spaces which fostered a sense of community building amongst the people.
