If we were to line up, side by side, the national reports we publish with each TICCIH congress we would see a paradoxical development that is in many ways characteristic of industrial heritage, and not just in the Czech Republic; the public's independent interest in industrial heritage today is more grounded in knowledge, solid arguments, and international comparisons than it was in the past, yet in many respects industrial heritage is at even greater risk than ever before.
