The implementation of European Landscape Convention in Czech Republic is facing number of problems and obstacles. One of the most neglected issues is one of the cornerstones of the convention - public participation. This paper shows pilot participatory landscape character assessment adapting the ECOVAST methodology for the Czech planning culture and lessons learned in this pilot project.
