Present disappearing of image of the cities, the way how we would like to have it, and the effort to find a solution for this unpleasant state, lead to various considerations. During the last years, there is a growing enthusiasm among the citizens as well as the architects for the quality of public spaces in the Czech Republic. The permanent public art, very much supported during the communist regime, is still on the periphery of professional interest. Public art is one of the layers in the complexity of a city. Through discursive analysis of the sculpture and the site something new about the uniqueness of the place can be revealed. The art is one of the ways how a city could be perceived. For public space, consisting of substantial part (material and spatial part) and non-substantial part (scenic or ephemeral part), the latter mentioned seems to be also very important one. In our installation the relationship of both these parts in documentary video and collection of documentary photographs is interpreted.
