Coordination of sustainable development in the Czech Republic is predetermined mainly by the administrative division and structure of local authorities. Previous efforts for joint activity beyond these structures have not been successful. This paper deals with possibilities of coordination in the current legislative framework and with approach and the real impact of planning documentation of the territorial units concerned.
