Selecetion procedure for academic staff members

The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague, Thákurova 9, Prague 6, announces, in accordance with the Act 111/1998 Coll., a selection procedure for filling academic staff positions starting in the summer semester 2022/2023 or by agreement and with full-time positions according to the scope of work. Teaching in the Czech language or, for selected courses, in English is expected.

1) For Department of Building Theory (Ú 15118):

  • A) 1 assistant professor position in the studio MgA. Ondřej Císler, Ph.D.

Requirements: Master's degree and at least 3 years of experience in architecture and urban planning; professional qualities and creative achievements in design, implementation and publication activities, active knowledge of English. Knowledge of another language and teaching experience at a university, event. a doctoral degree are welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,5.

  • B) 1 post of scientific, research and development worker involved in teaching activities in the field of environmental, social and health accessibility

Requirements: Master's degree in architecture and urban planning, doctoral studies in architecture and urban planning with specialization in environmental accessibility, social and health buildings; research experience in this field, publications in domestic or foreign professional press, possibly published theoretical works; active knowledge of English language; organizational skills. Experience in the field of accessibility of buildings, or design of social and health buildings is welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,1 + additional according to the research projects obtained.

  • C) 1 spot of scientific, research and development worker in the field of built environment and real estate development, involved in teaching activities with a focus on teaching in the subjects DEV I – Fundamentals of Real Estate Development , DEV II – Fundamentals of Project Management and preparation for the accreditation of the Master of Education in Development.

Requirements: Doctoral degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in development, real estate engineering or related fields (architecture and urbanism, spatial planning, strategic planning, regional development, real estate development, housing and housing policy, urban engineering, urban studies, real estate valuation, social and economic geography, etc.); experience in teaching and research in the built environment; organisational skills; active knowledge of English. Teaching experience and knowledge of the academic environment, experience in private or public development and other professional qualities such as contribution to quality development and research, publications in national and international professional press, or published theoretical papers are welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,2 with gradual increases prior to program accreditation.

  • D) 1 spot of scientific, research and development worker in the field of the built environment and real estate development, involved in teaching activities with a focus on teaching in Lifelong Learning Development courses, including the organisation of courses and their PR as well as teaching in the subjects DEV I – Fundamentals of Real Estate Development and DEV II – Fundamentals of Project Management

Requirements: Master's degree and at least 5 years of experience in development, real estate engineering or related fields (architecture and urbanism, spatial planning, strategic planning, regional development, real estate development, housing and housing policy, urban engineering, urban studies, real estate valuation, social and economic geography, etc.); research experience in the built environment; organisational skills; active knowledge of English.
Doctoral university education, teaching experience and knowledge of the academic environment, experience in the field of private or public development and other professional qualities such as participation in quality development and research, publications in domestic and foreign professional press, or published theoretical works are welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,4.

2) For Department of Landscape Architecture (Ú 15120):

  • A) 1 professor, associate professor, assistant professor - lecturer in the subject Landscape Architecture I with a view to expanding the current content of the subject to include systematic history of landscape architecture, present and future trends

Requirements: Master's degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in the field of landscape architecture or architecture and urbanism, appointment as prof. or doc. in the field, in the case of an assistant professor/assistant professor, the prerequisites for starting the habilitation procedure; professional qualities, own publications, an overview of current trends in the field, active knowledge of the English language and the ability to teach also in English. Knowledge of another language and teaching experience at university, foreign experience, possibly. Graduation from doctoral studies are welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,25.

  • B) 1 assistant professor position in the studio of landscape architecture Ing. Jitka Trevisan

Requirements: Master's degree and at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of landscape architecture or architecture and urbanism; professional qualities and creative achievements in design, implementation and publishing activities, detailed knowledge of landscape architecture technologies and related legislation, orientation in the processing of urban and landscape designs at various scales and levels; active knowledge of the English language. Knowledge of another language, teaching experience at university, event. Graduation from doctoral studies are welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,5.

3) For Department of Spatial Planning (Ú 15121):

  • 1 position of studio head with the rank of professor or associate professor in the field of urbanism and spatial planning

Requirements: Master's degree in architecture and urban planning, at least 5 years of experience with a focus on spatial planning; for the position of professor/professor or associate professor/assistant professor, appointment in the field, for assistant professor/assistant professor the prerequisites for the habilitation procedure; professional qualities and creative achievements in design, implementation and publication activities, active knowledge of English and the ability to teach in English. Knowledge of an additional language, a doctoral degree and teaching experience at university are welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,5.

4) For Department of Design (Ú 15150):

  • 1 assistant professor position in the Design Fundamentals I (ZD I) and Design Fundamentals II (ZD II) studios, providing work with foreign students including teaching the Design Process Methodology course and participating in the department's grant and project activities.

Requirements: Master's degree and at least 3 years of experience in the relevant field; professional qualities and creative achievements in the field of design, active knowledge of English and the ability to teach in English. Knowledge of another language and teaching experience at university, possibly. Graduation from a doctoral program is welcome.
Estimated working conditions 0,7.

 

Applicants will send with their application form:

  • a structured professional CV with an overview of professional, creative, teaching, publishing and scientific activities, including references (citations);
  • certified copies of evidence of higher education and academic degrees;
  • for positions focused on teaching studio work, examples of key works in A4 format;
  • for the positions of studio heads (positions ad 2 and ad 5) a written idea of the concept and focus of the studio, for the position of lecturer (position ad 1) a written idea of the concept and focus of the teaching of the subject and research.

The announcement of the selection procedure was published in the public part of the CTU and FA CTU websites on 5 December 2022. The last day for sending applications is Monday 9 January 2023.
