Open Call: RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship

The RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship, supported by the Nroman Foster Foundation, offers one scholarship for an architecture student to support international research in a location of their choice. The amount of financial support is £7,000.

The Faculty of Architecture of the CTU nominates one student who has completed the first year of Bachelor's studies. The deadline for the faculty open call is May 8, 2024.

The research topic should relate to urban sustainability and should fall under one of the following areas:

  • learning from the past to inform the future
  • the future of society
  • density of settlements
  • use of resources
  • quality of urban life
  • transport

Students submit an A1 poster in PDF format with a detailed description of the proposal (theme, goal, locations) and high-resolution images. The proposal can be supplemented with additional material in MP3 or MP4 formats, up to a maximum of 3 minutes.

The trip is expected to take place between July and October 2024. Upon completion, the research results will be presented at the Norman Foster Foundation.

Applications must be submitted by 23.59 on 8 May 2024 via the application form. Submissions will be reviewed by the FA CTU management and one entry will be selected to be nominated by the faculty.
