Annotation
In connection with the apron and the needs of the adjacent environment, now known as Sherwood, I am proposing a hotel and brewery that can meet the needs and potential of what is now neglected site in the very centre of Prague. As part of the design we are working with the demolition of the side ramps of the concourse, where the proposed building is partially located. The building is materially divided into two parts. The brewery, oriented towards the newly created square, offers a dining and cultural experience and, above all, a revitalization of the site. On the other side, towards the to the main road is the hotel. Between these two masses there is a kind of courtyard, which serves both for the hotel and the brewery itself and as a link between the square, the apron and the Fanta building. A striking feature of the whole building are the two brick chimneys that serve as vents from the C line subway that runs just below the building. This is matched by the extreme reinforced concrete structure of the entire building, which helps to overcome the span of the metro. And it forms the characteristic expression of the building.
