FINDING THE IDEA PLACE FOR THE NATIONAL LIBRARY AND ITS DESIGN AND SURROUNDINGS

As a problem area with great potential in the city center, the town offers an ideal space for the location of the new building of the National Library, which the institution has long needed. At the end of the busy street Na Poříčí, near important traffic junctions and embankments on the opposite bank will soon grow another important cultural institution creating a public building and space with its calm contrast to the surrounding of busy atmosphere, complement the Prague network of public buildings and change undefined space landmark to meeting place.
