MICHALOVCE

This thesis is the urbanistic study of new development in the SNP neighborhood in Michalovce, East Slovakia. Due to the change of political regime in 1989 this neighborhood has failed to be completed according to the original plans. As a result, it has many problems, most prominently a lack of civic amenities. My goal is to provide plans for the future urban development of this area, corresponding to the current housing demands, its integration with the rest of the city, as well as emphasizing pedestrian and cycling infrastructure and public space.
