Product Design Following the Production of Porcelain

This Bachelor thesis focuses on the design of porcelain product based on its material properties. The product creates a new way of connecting the material to a specific location. The project focuses on Moravské Kopanice in the White Carpathians and the Žítková Goddesses. Function is chosen after the research of the Goddesses, specifically their healing practices. Motif of the project are springs located in Žítková and its surroundings. The springs are important part of practices of the Žítková Goddesses and serve as a symbol of their connection to nature of Moravské Kopanice. Final design consists of two porcelain products – a bowl for rubbing herbs with a pestle and a bowl for water from the spring.
