New Product Design Based on Recycling of Waste Materials

MYCOmpanion is a disposable and portable camping thermobox and grill in one designed for hiking and off-grid camping. It is made of mycelium, the invisible roots of mushrooms, which have excellent thermo-insulating, waterproof and fire-resistant properties. The proposed product seeks to make the most of these properties and provides a more environmentally friendly solution to existing plastic thermoboxes or disposable grills. It is able to hold over six liters of chilled beverages and barbecue food, including briquettes and is completely biodegradable. The design includes a compact grill grate and eco-friendly briquettes made of coffee bean husks.
