Annotation

Aspern Seestadt is an emerging district in Vienna - currently the largest housing project in Europe. The new "city within a city" lacks a cord with cultural buildings that would attract locals, but also people from the distant center. I propose a residential building with an underground multifunctional hall which aims to provide cultural entertainment. Housing is intended for a close community, a big part of the buildings are shared spaces. The multifunctional hall is a rentable public space that allows for various events to be held there - ranging from a play to concerts, dances, presentations, exhibitions, etc. On the ground level, pedestrians find a cafe with views towards the city.
