The Great Barrier Reef Center

The new design of The Great Barrier Reef Center forms a place for popularization, study and research support of suboceanic life of The Great Barrier Reef. Project is situated on the northern ending of the main waterfront promenade „The Esplanade“ in the northaustralian city of Cairns. Center is functionally and also structurally divided into two blocks, which gether informational function for common and proffesional public (the galery, mediatheke, lecture hall) and also practical function (the diving club with gym and the restaurant). It is a organically shaped (mainly) wooden structure with specially designed upper shetler which derives benefit from solar radiation.
