Annotation

The site is located on the northern edge of the medieval fortifications of Litoměřice. The main axis, Na Valech Street, was created around the city center along the walls based on the same principle as that of the Viennese Ringstrasse. Nowadays, part of the area in question is used as a parking lot and appears significantly unfinished, in contrast to the compact structure along Na Valech Street. This diploma project deals with the space described above while keeping in mind the needs of the city, the overall character of Na Valech Street and with great emphasis on the creation of urban space, here in several different forms. The project proposes to create an urban space halfway between the park and the square, through which passes a busy city street. The newly designed part of the urban tissue consists of three buildings. While the multi-functional building located on the north side of the street is glazed, forming an expressive dominant of the place, the other two buildings on the south side are rather more modest, consisting of classic brick walls with windows and a more down-to-earth scale, always as if standing on a plinth, which, like a bridge connects both sides of the park between them.
