VRŠOVICKÁ HOUSING

I am proposing urban rental housing on a forgotten plot next to the Hasa Sports Hall. The ambition is to design a project that would be suitable in its layout, standard, and construction design for urban rental housing which the city could incorporate into its housing fund. At the same time, the work tries to elaborate on other themes related to this form of housing that currently resonates: prefabrication, the question of standard and comfort, the variability and adaptability of layouts in the construction cycle, the historical form of tenement houses with pavilions, etc. The design is respectful of the nearby elementary school, where it intends to rebuild the current old nursery and connect the sites together. The proposal seeks to treat the sports hall in the same way, with both respect in urban design and mass. The proposal itself, in the form of five houses, forms a semi-closed block open towards the slope of Havlíčkův orchards. In its form and expression, the proposal refers to the prefabricated housing of the last century, but at the same time, it tries to bring something new to the machinistic form of „prefabs“ that we are so used to in the Czech Republic.
