Semily - Řeky - Between the City and Landscape

   The city Semily is a quite sparse city, where the connections are not very good. It constitutes of several smaller settlements and thats why there are many different urban structures. Between them there remained the empty spaces and nowadays as well the brownfileds. The city has not a very strategic position. It is neither a touristic atraction nor well reacheable from bigger cities.   The topic of the project is the question about the developement of the city, about the relation to lanscape and about connection of different structures of housing. To define places and areas which are worth to converse, complete or redefine them. Question about creating places with their identity and character. The character of the city is given by its location, by the city structure – it has open green spaces in the middle and by its surroundings.   The assignment is to give rules for de developement of the city. Rules how should behave the urban structure in the city and in the lanscape.   The goal is to create a comfortable city for people with its own identity and character.
