Mosque in the urban environment

The project placed  in the embankment of Esil‘s river, along the Saraishyk street(President’s park area) in the capital city of Kazakhstan – Astana, includes drawings of a mosque surrounded by designed landscape incorporated with  the existing urban situation. This project is meant to bring different ideas for accustomed understanding of mosque space distribution. The prayer hall is now elevated to the upper level under the dome which created private atmosphere for the prayers. There are three more levels (courtyard, passage/gallery, studying quiet zone) which are open for religious/non-religious public. As a landmark across the river there is a hill with a time garden which works in contrast to built up area on the other river side.
