Albertov student house

Bc. Jiří Ptáček

Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project

Annotation

Campus Albertov is like a small town within a city. Town of students, teachers and scientists. But it is just a monofunctional town - full of lecture halls and laboratories. However, university campus should be also a place for meeting, dialogue and cooperation. Campus should be diverse and live. As a part of the city, it should have residents and should offer a place for students to spend their time besides lessons. Otherwise it could become a ghost town every evening and weekend. The main subject of the diploma thesis was to find an appropriate emplacement and form of The Student  House which would serve students and employees of the university as an academic and social background. The main building program consists of cafeteria, housing for postgraduate students and base for student union.
