THE REVITALISATION OF THE STATENICE CHATEAU AND ITS GROUNDS

Municipality Statenice, like many other settlements in the surrounding of large cities, has big problems concerning the absence of a civil community and a lack of public facilities. At the same time, the chateau complex, which was formerly the centre and key point of the village, is not used any more and became a ruin. A baroque chateau with a farmstead, some parts of which are on the list of our culture heritage, represents an ideal venue for activities vital for the community, that could potentially stimulate community establishment. This project aims to rehabilitate a valuable monument and harness its potential, to meet in a sustainable way the needs of the community provided that historical value and architectural uniqueness of the complex shall be preserved.
