REVITALIZATION OF THE FACTORY COMPLEX IN KAMENICKÝ ŠENOV

A hundred years ago - a first-class factory whose chandeliers adorned interiors all over the world. Today - an abandoned building in a deplorable state. The aim of this project is to revitalize the area of the former Elias Palme chandelier factory in Kamenický Šenov and to find a new functional use that would help the town develop. The new use offers the young residents of the town and those from more distant areas a secondary vocational education in the fields of gastronomy and tourism. Students in the new environment will have the opportunity to engage directly in practice, thanks to a professionally equipped kitchen and a multifunctional event hall. The spaces will serve not only for education but also for cultural events and short-term recreation. The town will be thus enriched by a space with a new function that can prevent the exodus of young people to larger cities, attract weekend visitors, and offer new job opportunities for local citizens. The design of the space respects the historical value of the area and its heritage protection.
