The Gathering Grove

Annotation
Public performances often push us beyond our comfort zones, inviting us to share our passions and creations. Project Gathering Grove seeks to do just that - only this time, it’s drawing students outdoors, away from the familiar chill of air-conditioned study rooms. Connected directly to the library, this space offers students a unique chance to unwind and experience performances under open skies.
At NUS, students have access to a wealth of resources and opportunities, though many are often tucked away indoors, hidden from casual passersby. Sometimes, students need a strong nudge to break out of routine, pause, and truly live in the moment. Gathering Grove provides that nudge, offering a vibrant space where ideas, passions, and creative works can be shared and enjoyed by all.
my key experience from erasmus
NUS is a school that offers student resources beyond one’s imagination. That is why it was such a challenge to design a new school facility for a school, that in my opinion, had everything. As hard as it was, I aimed to create a place for students to unwind after a long day of studying and working.
This experience taught me how to adapt to a completely different environment and embrace new challenges. While we were encouraged to think boldly and innovate, I often felt that practical considerations were set aside. That’s something I deeply appreciate about my university, CTU, which strikes a thoughtful balance between creativity and reality.
