Gap between houses in the town of Turnov

The assignment is dealing with a gap between houses in the town of Turnov. It is a space on the border of the lively city centre and an abandoned part with a frequented road. Since 2004 when the former butchery was demolished there are only trees growing. It is a new chance for returning a new life in that part of the town. I designed a small culture centre in the place of the gap which can bring back some life into this area. The house is divided into two main masses. In the first one there is a gallery with two floors of exhibition rooms and a café on the ground floor. In the second part there is a small library with a reading space on the first floor. There is also a lecture hall with courtyard entry. In my project I suggest coloured concrete as a main material which fits the new modern house as well as the context of the whole street.
