Rhine Port Revisited

Tomáš Haulík

Annotation

The proposal focuses on the territory of the former customs office on the French side of the German-French border, defined by the river Rhine in Strasbourg. The unifying idea of the design is an urban design that should unite instead of dividing. The aim was to connect both the German city of Kehl and Strasbourg by bringing the city to the river with houses oriented towards the water, and to connect the existing district from the 1930s with the newer landscape project Deux Rives (french for "two banks") located south of the project site.
