Swimming pool - Smíchov river bank

An anomaly remained on the mysterious Smíchov part of the river - a continuous uninterrupted beach. Every intervention into the landscape raises a difficult question: Can my design make the place better or will it make it worse? I divided the programme into two distinct volumes: a big roofed swimming pool and urban spa. Volumes are connected by a colonnade on top of which lies a lazy river. The swan bay is sheltered from the rush of the city, more pleasant than ever. Buildings are designed as statues on the river bank. Form and materiality refers to baroque, art nouveau, industrialism and brutalism.
