Nuselský žaberník

Ondřej Buš

Annotation

The task was to prepare a bridge for the future, which would be conceived for a period of 50 years. The existing structure of the Nuselský Bridge consists of beams made of prestressed concrete, which has a limited lifetime period. In the coming decades, it will therefore be necessary to replace the construction of the bridge. The design preserves the floor plan of the bridge piers and changes their appearance and function. Thanks to the individual lamellas, the spatial perception changes. From the view from the south and the north, the bridge is perceived as a solid, by contrast from the side view, the bridge forms a more subtle structure and provides interesting views. The work is based on the vertical connection of Prague Nusle with Vinohrady and Pankrác.
