LIVING IN THE CITY - PRAHA VÝTOŇ

Bc. Martin Sýkorský

Annotation

The design of an apartment building for a small site with an area of 74m2 comes from the sense for order seen in the surrounding historical morphology and draws also from the industrial characteristics of the area of Výtoň, with its dominant railway bridge and its history of wood import from the Vltava river. It is a 6 storey structure with 4 flats (2 rooms 50m2), commercial ground floor and a green roof accessible to all residents. The usage of bay windows expands the living area and allows evening sunlight to reach the room. Bedrooms are situated by the calmer back facade with morning sunlight and views of the Vyšehrad castle.
