Apartment building Jihlava

Bc. Štěpán Sucharda

Annotation

The house is inspired by the city of Jihlava, especially its typical Renaissance houses. On the ground floor there is space for shops and services. Daylight flows into it through two skylights from the atriums above it. The apartments, which start on the first floor, are stacked so that enough light gets into them and the rays penetrate into the skylight in the floor. The mass of the house is divided in two ways into four parts. The wider road copies the direction of the historic road, which passed through here during the Renaissance. The second, narrower road opens a view of the inhabitants to the Church of St. Jakuba Většío.
