Factory in the bastion

Adam Hofman

Annotation

During the 18th century, the town of Cheb was protected by a fortress with 7 large bastions and 2 Baroque moats. The bridge gate was one of the most important entrances to the city. The delimitation of the bastion is preserved almost 200 years after the suffocation of the fortifications. The new city block is connected to the preserved factory and corner house. The block is passable, but part of the courtyard serves only the inhabitants of apartment buildings. The aim of the proposal was to create a block of urban development. At present, the Lidl shopping center stands on the area adjacent to this plot. In the design, this object is demolished and incorporated into the mass of the block. It is located on the ground floor of the northern part of the block.
