Exhibition of Studio Projects

Revolution Street, Prague - Performance Art Center

Meritxell Padrós Prats

Annotation

The project aims to be a new public space facing the river and the connection between the bridge and the park while avoiding traffic around it. The Performance Art Center is composed of two parts: the balcony, which contains the inside public space and represents the new façade to the river, and the opaque part, which comprehends all the private spaces such as the performance hall, the offices, and the performers’ chambers. The connection between public transport and the river is made by a diagonal that crosses the building until it meets with the panoramic view of the river which is extended outside thanks to the new bridge. This entrance is meant to be another public space for the city. The glass balcony pretends to be a particular piece inserted in the building showing its public use.
