Once upon a time, Veleslavín used to be a medieval village with a lively center, which fell under the wings of the Břevnov Monastery. Since the middle of the 18th century, its dominant feature has been a chateau with a magnificent garden, which over the centuries has transformed its formal Baroque appearance into a romantic jungle. Nowadays, the chateau park is quickly becoming the only place where it is possible to rest under old trees ... yet it remains completely closed to the public. The project focuses on transformation of the area into a cultural and community center. The philosophy of the concept is not only the return of life inside the chateau walls, but also to make the departure from this world more pleasant for the patients of the newly established palliative center.
