Rum glass Depaz

Annotation

Depaz rum glass is designed for the distillery of the same name, which is located in the Caribbean on the island of Martinique. The shape inspiration is the very history of the distillery and the volcano, which is located nearby. It was the Montagne Pellée volcano that buried the distillery and the founding Depaz family in 1902. However, the only surviving son renewed the family tradition and in 1917 founded the existing distillery Depaz. Thanks to the traditional legacy, the building stands on the site of the original one. The Pellée volcano is still active today, and so a certain tension arises between man and nature. This tension is written into the glass as an apparent touch of the inner bottom of the glass and the lower top, which is shaped like the outline of a volcano.
