Belt buckle

The concept of semester assignments is based on the transformation of the old Chinese game Tangram and its shape variations. A broad theme brings together several projects into the final output of a comprehensive concept of mutually communicating fashion accessories. Based on the game with given geometric shapes of Tangram, the task was to create its monogram using a limited number of pieces. The development of variants created a tangram alphabet. The buckle and small accompanying design (earrings, cufflinks, brooch...) have a direct link to the compositional solution of the initials of the custom monogram, with emphasis being placed on the function, mechanism of fastening and harmonisation of the whole, accented by the graphic design of the print of the fabric (wallpaper).
