VELESLAVÍN

The main goal of the project was to connect the buildings of old Veleslavín with more modern buildings around the railway and thus create a new village center and public space, which is missing here. I designed an open block of flats with accessible courtyards, which flows freely in the square. The development, which is connected to the original Veleslavín, was designed on a scale corresponding to the old development so that they would be interconnected. The main communication axis is formed by streets leading across the block of flats, the square to the old Veleslavín. The pleasant atmosphere of the streets is evoked by the tree line with which they are lined. The square has a large open space for markets and other cultural events.
