THE NODE

In the southern part of Prague is modern area with buissnes centers - the pentagon Pankrác. Although the place is an important transport hub, where tens of thousands of people pass through every day, the main access to the the subway is in the bad condition. This place was supposed to serve as a square in the past, but it was never realized. The design responds to the needs of the surroundings and the place becomes a new square, which combines different functions. The square consists of three parts with different characters. The most significant design elements are a tall lamppost, polder and bosquettes. The goal of the design is to make the journey to work and for fun more pleasant, to offer a place where you can stop for a while, to increase biodiversity in the city and to use rainwater.
