Café and multifunctional hall in Berlin

Daniel Hub

Annotation

The designed interiors are located inside a proposed cultural and artistic center in Berlin, Kreuzberg. The café reflects the history and culture of the place where it is located. The area was hit by bombing during World War II and subsequently significantly neglected, which gave rise to many social problems. The interior tells of the clash of modern times and the tragic history of the area, and of how this clash gave rise to a unique culture. It is strongly connected with alternative art. Like the café, the multifunctional hall refers in its concept to the history of the place. It symbolizes the bombing that the bloc went through during World War II, and the associated destruction, after which only two buildings remain as a reminder of these events.
