TRANSFORMATION OF BRUMLOVKA - DUPLEX APARTMENTS AND TERRACES

The aim of the project was to examine the possibilities of converting the Brumlovka office building into a residential building. I worked on the segment of the north wing of Brumlovka built in module 2x 7.2x7.2 + 1x 6.1x7.2. The concept was to create duplex apartments with generous verandas. The entrances to the apartments are found in north orriented galleries on every second floor. Each apartment has at the entrance level a spacious living room combined with the kitchen and its own extension of the terrace and on the upper floor, which recedes, are the private rooms. The pavilions are covered in two layers by a polycarbonate sliding facade in a 1.5x3m grid, which allows the opening and closing of the semi-private space of the terraces.
