The main idea of my project is to replace an old summer cinema in Beroun. The design includes a cinema building and an auditorium with the roof. Due to the year-round usability of the building I designed a café in the building. The operations of the café and the cinema are separated from each other so they can work at the same time. In my design, I was inspired by analog film technology, especially the shape of the beams resembling film reels. Also i was inspired by the shapes of 60's cars - the smooth transition of the building and roof. The building copies the natural slope of the terrain and encloses the entire area with an amphitheater shape. In cross-section, it takes the shape of a parabola and thus acts as a wall against unwanted noise.
