Columbarium Riga

The main starting points of the proposal were to understand the overall concept of the Forest cemetery and the possibility of honoring the memory of the dead and their burial. The Forest Cemetery in Riga consists of several dominants, which are located within the forest. The new building supports this idea and thus complements this network of important places. The structure of the columbarium creates an enclosed space for a quiet memory of your loved ones. It consists of vertical load-bearing arches and horizontal strips, which strengthen the whole structure and create space for storing urns. One main road leads through the whole building and indicates the direction of movement for visitors.
