The Centre of Czech - German Understanding, Jablonec - Rýnovice

The main point of this design was to keep the original timbered building, to enhance it and to add some interesting element, but at the same time not to reduce its value. After cleaning the floor plans, a new interior was designed. It consists of the original contents of the house, cafe and gallery, as well as an office and a special apartment for artists. There is also a path leading from the original unused underground floor to the outbuilding containing a sanitary facility for visitors. At the entrance to the courtyard of the building, the main element to capture our interest is a copper wall of significant symbolism, representing the friendship between the Czech Republic and Germany. The friendly connection is indicated by "stitches".
