Buildings by the stream, Železný Brod

The centre of the monument reservation in Železný Brod is the Small Square, above which rises a hill with a church. The design focuses on the two gap sites near the square and helps define spatial boundaries of the square. Second key element is a stream between tho two gap sites. New buildings line the stream and create a passageway around it. The accessible space by the stream thus becomes part of city life and turns into a series of more intimate public spaces and a public garden that could be created in its neighborhood. All this is composed regarding the view of the hill with the church. Functions of the art school, small library and housing strengthens the role of the square and helps to bring it back to people.
