The Community Centre Prestice

The work is focused on a new urban concept of the town of Přeštice, which is dominated by the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The proposal responds to the bleak state of the "acropolis" caused by the communist regime and the need for a cultural and social home. The spiritual significance of this place is strongly emphasized in the urban-architectural solution. Efforts were made to strengthen the spiritual character of the place, enrich the city with new cultural facilities and create a pleasant place to stay.
