Library - Technical

The design of municipal and technical library in the heart of Opava city. The library is located in the lower part of the urban block and defines around itself 3 different public spaces - playground, local square and green triangle. The mass of the library copies unevenness of the historic buildings and creates a monoblock which has the same feeling as an urban block consisted of diverse historic buildings without the need of creating many different facades. The tower is an archaic shape, but with modern details and materials. It is a place for quiet study. The spaces in library are connected through straircase atriums. It is a place where you can sit and eat, debate, study outside or inside in silence and never feel deserted. You can still feel the presence of other human beings.
