Via Principalis

Annotation

Prague’s northern diameter represents an important artery, which, however, is not sufficiently cared for. The artery crosses Dejvice and Holešovice and is in direct connection with Letná. On its route, we come across large unused lands or obsolete buildings, which now act as barriers, either in the permeability of the axis itself or in its connection to the surroundings. Holešovice and Dejvice are districts with positive reputations and high popularity among the people, therefore the proposed modifications treat their surroundings with respect. They build on the existing logic of street systems and aim for clarity and easy orientation. Hradčanská and Bubny are perceived here as gates and Letenské Náměstí as a central milestone on the way between them.
