Marek Wagner

Annotation

Kren's house was demolished more than a century ago as part of the Prague redevelopment. He was left empty in the heart of the city, the ruined composition of the square and the uncovered Dietzenhofer Cathedral. At the same time, a foreign element entered the square, the uncontextual Paris Street - a wide upright boulevard against the winding medieval streets. Today, life is disappearing from the square, the ground floors of the buildings are already definitively touristed, and in recent decades, city-building functions have completely disappeared. The new development in the north-western tip does not only have to correct the mistakes of the past centuries by supplementing the development, but also helps to bring the square closer to the people, closer to the people of Prague.
