KRENNŮV DŮM

The studio's task was to design a residency for teachers of Charles University. The residence is intended for short-term accommodation of the rector and foreign professors with family members. When i designed the apartment building, I kept the ground plan of the original Krenn house with its irregular floor plan and curvature, it connects to narrow alleys in the historical center of Prague. The concept is to close the busy Paris Street and restore the original square in front of the Church of St. Mikuláš and to Old Town Square, which I highlight with a regular grid on both sides. I created a passage for the students of the faculty, which is closed to the public space. I designed maisonette apartments for residents and short-term solutions as studio flats.
