LDN Barrandov - care architecture
Annotation
The aim was to create an enclosed environment of the hospital, which should be a place for relaxation. Private courtyards have therefore become the main principle of the design. They are surrounded by the pavilions of the hospital. Thanks to its location on a hill, the hospital is well connected to the height level of residential buildings around.
For many patients, hospital symbolise home in the long run. Therefore, it should not be a sterile environment. But where is the line between patients not getting used to it, sometimes even after spending months here, still realizing that they are in the hospital and still want to return home? And how thin is the boundary between an LDN patient and a day care centre for elderly people client?
